Last month Rabbi David Mason, on behalf of Tzelem, met with Richard Harrington MP, the minister responsible for coordinating the resettlement of Syrian refugees in the UK. The meeting was arranged by JCORE, the League of Jewish Women (LJW) and Tzelem. Mr Harrington provided an update on the Syrian resettlement program. The representatives of JCORE, LJW and Tzelem highlighted the extensive work of the Jewish community in this area and their desire to do more. Rabbi Mason urged Mr Harrington to make sure the Government presents a strong moral voice to demonstrate that taking in 20,000 refugees shows Britain at its best.
